I love Marine Street.  If I could choose any beach to live at in San Diego, it would be easy to choose Marine Street.  There are really good surf spots all over the place - depending on the swell direction and tides.  There is a nice sandy beach that has a lot of room for everyone who goes there.  The water is really clear a lot of the time.  There are fish all over, and there is some really good waves for body-whomping.  The photo that this painting is based on was taken in February this year.  Look how sunny and clear it is.  There were about a dozen guys in the water, and maybe 30 more people enjoying the beach in the sun.  What a beautiful way to spend February.  This painting wasn't easy to do, but I really like the way it turned out.  And, I think it shows parts of San Diego that a lot of people never get to see.  Plus, they don't have to go through the beating that I got after this shot was taken.  So fun.
